- Cluster C - Set of anxious avoidant personality disorders (DPD, APD, OCPD)
- Codependency - informal for DPD (Dependent Personality Disorder)
- Cognitive Dissonance - when a person has to make sense of two or more contradictory pieces of information
- Communism - political system based on state enforced collection and redistribution of value; state controlled property and of the means of production
- Comorbidities - diseases/pathologies in addition to a primary disease
- Conversion disorders - psychological distress expressed as physical symptoms
- Cosmovision - vision/conception about how the world works
- Depersonalization - change in the sense of self-identity
- Derealization - change in the perceptual experience of reality
- Dissociation - Loss of identity, confusion, memory loss, feeling disconnected
- Doorbell Dread - Fear of someone coming to the hoard
- Dopamine - neurotrasmiter associated with the reward system which is experienced as pleasure
- Double Bind - 'Damned if you, damned if you don't'
- Egosyntonicity - Matching behaviors and self-image/identity
- Enmeshment - becoming overly close that your personalities start to merge; breaking boundaries
- Entrainment - psychological synchronization

- False-self - personality construct to shield and project an idealized version of the self
- FIFO, FEFO, LIFO - acronyms for "First in, first out", "First expired, first out" and "Last in, first out", which are used in logistics and stocking
- "Folie à deux" - literally "Crazyness of two"; shared fantasy: shared psychosis
- Gaslighting - attempt to change the other person's perception of the truth by pushing false memories or by accusing of inadequeacy, miscalculation, mistake
- Groupthink - biased convergent group thought alignment
- Heuristic - how to solve a problem; how to do
- Hoarding - Obsessive behavior of gathering and saving items
- Hyper-mania - Excessive excitation; erratic behavior
- Hypo-mania - Absense of excitation; lethargy
- Ideosyncrasy - specific unique characteristic detail
- Introject - unconscious adoption of the thoughts or personality traits of others
- Kleptomania - compulsive stealing
- Lability - emotionality
- Lebensraum - living space
- Learned helplessness acquired self-defeatism from low self-esteem due to abuse
- Machievelianism - derived from the political advisor Niccolo Machieveli, it expresses his calculating and predatory style of character
- Materialism - Philosophical world view based on a euclidean newtonian world of objects
- Modus operandi - latin for "way of operating"
- Mortification - tatic within therapy modalities against NPD that intends to force the patience to face reality and adapt to it
- Narcissism - derived from a mythological character named Narcisus that was obsessively infatuated with his own reflection; basis for NPD (Narcissistic Personality Disorder) diagnosis
- 'Object' - psycanalytic reference of people, as internal 'objects'
- Object relations theory - psycho-analytic theory that explains early infancy identity formation through primary caregiver relations
- Objectification - Conversion of external 'objects' (people) into internal 'objects'; coloquially, treating people as sexual objects
- OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Personification - figure of speech that confers human properties and characteristics to inhert, abstract or non-human living entities
- Reinforcement - a strategic way to instill the repetition (positive reinforcement) or halting (negative reinforcement) a behavior
- Paracosm - a parallel confabulated reality
- Positivism - philosophical view that only accounts as true/real/existent that which is measurable
- Prime - to prepare so as to influence in preprogrammed manner
- Process Addiction - repetitive behavioral patterns [regardless of the outcome]
- Procrastination - postponing tasks
- Psychopathy - informal for APD (antisocial personality disorder)
- PTSD - stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder; and CPTSD for Complex PTSD which stands for the accumulation of traumas
- Rationalization - A form of explanation (often "unconscious") to explain a situation; a way to solve cognitive dissonance; self-deception
- Reality testing abilities - The ability to correctly assess reality
- Reframing - The technique to interpret and modulate facts in a different light, or with different conclusions
- Socratic Method - method of enquiry that poses opportune questions and seeks to find the answer by narrowing down possiblities and posing even more nuanced and specific questions and so on
- Solipsism - the belief that the only thing the self can trust to be true is the self's existence
- Schema - Set of mental models to organize personality and behavior around
- Sedentarism - a stationary lifestyle of little movement
- Self-trash - to treat oneself badly; demean oneself
- Sovereignty - Ownership
- Splitting - Binary thinking (good-bad, like-dislike, useful-useless)
- Stocholm Syndrome - condition of kidnap victims of protecting or empathizing with their kidnapper
- Sublimation - replacement of one basic drive (drive) with more socially acceptable solutions
- Suicidal ideation - thoughts of suicide
- Tensors - something that causes tension
- Trauma dumping - burdening other people with information very negatively emotionally charged
- Zero-sum game - One type of game where for one player to win the other must lose, and vice versa
